PayPal vs Developing Countries

PayPal’s treatment of developing countries is quite interesting. Residents of developing nations can spend their own money through PayPal. However, PayPal does not allow these same people to receive money through its service.

It really is frustrating to people constrained by PayPal's hypocrisy. PayPal makes money from these people when they buy things (credit card processing fees). However, PayPal is not returning the favor.

It is not all PayPal’s fault though. The US has murky, intricate money remittance policies towards developing countries - including Mexico a neighboring country. To them, all money leaving their shores to developing countries is money that funds terrorism, drugs and cartels.

I am not mad at either PayPal or its parent country. My real grievance is to the developing countries. They will remain enslaved by their own inaction and technical ineptitude for a long time.

The most effective method to make company A change its views is for competitor B to make the change and snatch company A's customers. In other words, if these countries develop easy to use online payment services, PayPal will...

All is fair in love, war and business.
