100% Commitment – the secret of improving your life and becoming more productive

"If I'm going to play, it's going to be 100-percent commitment." -Brett Favre
Do you want to accomplish more daily? Do you want to improve your life and succeed at whatever you do? Here’s what you need:

100% Commitment

You already possess the ability to be at least 2X more productive. If you remove distractions, your life will immediately improve.

How to Remove Distractions & Become 100% Committed

Here’s a 3-step technique to improve your concentration. It’s a very powerful technique that will immediately improve your ability to concentrate and achieve more in less time.

The best part of this technique is that you do not need prior practice. It just works. Better yet, your ability to concentrate will improve the more you use it.

3-Step Distraction Remover

Before you start your task:
  • Set the countdown timer on your phone to 15 minutes
  • Start working until the timer stops you
  • Restart the timer as many times as you need to get the task done. Or, go do something else
That’s it! Three simple steps to radically increasing your concentration ability. Follow those three simple steps and I guarantee you will be surprised by the result.

NOTE:
For the 15 minutes, ignore every other distraction - every other thing can wait.

Does your mouth stink in the morning? Here's how to get rid of it

Does your mouth stink in the morning? So does mine.

In fact, it stinks so much that the first thing I do in the morning is to rush for my toothbrush. If I accidentally swallow saliva before brushing, I'll experience serious stomach aches.

If for some reason I can't brush, I would have to spit more than a pregnant woman to avoid stomach aches. Also, I don't speak to anyone until I've brushed - not even to my parents. I just nod like a lizard.

The School (Bus) Plane

I had an interesting dream today. In fact, I just awoke from it. I usually forget my dreams but for some reason, I remember this one.

I was walking down the stairs with two young women, both friends of mine. We were talking about important stuff and then the younger woman blurted out, "I want to get married."

Fela the Controversial Prophet

Fela's style of dressing was Eccentric. He portrayed his Africanness

I love Fela music. I have always wanted to write the lyrics of his songs and translate the non-English words. Maybe I will, maybe not.

I often wonder what the man was like in person. I have watched all the interviews I could find. I have read as much as my eyes could take. Yet, I am unsatisfied. The man in the music seems elusive.

All Play and No work makes me miserable

Play without work makes me miserable. Seriously, it does.

Whenever I have fun for an awful long period without working, things go haywire. Comedy clips become less funny, films become uninteresting, and worse, my beloved Japanese anime lose color.

Whenever this happens, I become restless, and get strange headaches. I would play interesting videos but close them within minutes. I would toss aside books after reading a few lines. To calm my restless mind, I would try sleeping more but after a while, sleep would become a chore.

Here is the craziest part.

I want more

"To all who have, more will be given, and they will have more than enough. But everything will be taken away from those who don't have much." - Matthew 25:29

Is it not crazy that banks loan money only to people who don't need it? I can understand why banks act that way though. It's the other things that bug me

No more Mr. Nice Guy

"Men are more ready to repay an injury than a benefit, because gratitude is a burden and revenge a pleasure" -Tacitus

It is good to be good, nice and to say the truth. However, being good, nice and truthful all the time is foolish.

Nice people are taken advantage of all the time. Hence the expression, "Nice guys finish last." I know this from personal experience.

A child who speaks the truth all the time attracts bullies like shit attract flies. For truthful adults, their friends would avoid them like a deadly plague because they can't be trusted with secrets.

Life is confusing

Life is crooked. It's full of paradoxes and contradictions. It really makes life hard for straightforward people like me.

Be nice to strangers - don't speak to strangers. That's the only contradiction I could think of. Luckily, I found two lists of life's contradictions.

Politics in Africa

Politicians are people who are paid to talk, discuss and argue in lieu of solving problems. I wonder what would happen if politicians are paid like modern business executives - according to performance.

Would they still speak politically, hedging their words or would they become blunt and speak their minds at every turn?

PayPal vs Developing Countries

PayPal’s treatment of developing countries is quite interesting. Residents of developing nations can spend their own money through PayPal. However, PayPal does not allow these same people to receive money through its service.

It really is frustrating to people constrained by PayPal's hypocrisy. PayPal makes money from these people when they buy things (credit card processing fees). However, PayPal is not returning the favor.

Troubles, like babies, grow larger by nursing

"Troubles, like babies, grow larger by nursing" -Lady Holland

Babies need care to survive and grow. They have to be fed, bathed, clothed and carried every single day. Without these, they would die of infection or starvation.

Like babies, problems need nursing to survive and grow.

How to Nurse Your Troubles

Here are two ways to we nurse our troubles.

The man who was Immune to Snake poison

I just read about the man called Bill Haast. Bill Haast was a snake charmer and handler. He was bitten at least 127 times by poisonous snakes during his life time.

Bill Hast's first wife divorced him because of his snake obsession.

Bill Haast got his first encounter with snakes at the age of 7. He had gotten several snake bites before he reached the age of 12.

He was bitten by poisonous snakes at least 100 times. Yet, he died at the age of 100 - from natural causes! Ridiculous. Read the full story here in New York Times website.

Although the article was written in 2011, it's an interesting read.

If you are fascinated by snakes, read on.

Searching on Amazon for the name Bill Haast gave a couple of interesting books.

Who should read this book?

Short answer - everyone.

Long answer - here's a comment by a male adult reader on the book.

"Before calling me a 10 year old girl, I will let you know I am a male in my twenties. Not sure why I decided to read this book. I was always a fan of his but not "hardcore" like some people. Judging this book based on content and not literary ability, it was excellent. DONT read this if you are expecting some kind of literary Shakespearean masterpiece. Don't forget, Justin is 18 years old and is a SINGER, not a seasoned writer. That being said, this is an easy read. I read it in one day over the span of a few hours. What I liked about this book was that it had a fair amount of information that wasn't included in the documentary Never Say Never or his first book. There were some appropriately placed pictures throughout the book; many of which I've also never seen before. You can tell that what Justin says in this book is truly coming from him and from the heart. It is almost as if Justin is standing in front of you telling you the story...." The book is an incredible book by a woman who by all accounts should be living on food stamps. But she beat the odds and overcame her drug addiction - well in addition to raising a superstar.

Below are recent reviews of the book written by Justin Beiber's mother.
